Northside Brewery

In 2006 KettleHouse became the first modern brewery in Montana to package beer in cans. Demand for our canned beers increased rapidly and we quickly grew out of our humble space at our Myrtle Street location. Owners Tim and Suzy started looking for a building to house a new production facility dedicated to canning our award winning beers and eventually settled upon a historic warehouse in Missoula’s north side railroad district. 313 North 1st St West – the “North side KettleHouse” opened its doors to a thirsty public on July 3rd, 2009. This location hosts our expanded taproom and brewery and was home to our canning operation from 2009-2016. Constructed in 1909, destined to be the new KettleHouse Brewery, the building originally was a fruit and vegetable storage warehouse for the Lindsay Company. Designed by architect A.J. Gibson the warehouse was state of the art when it was built. The building 032-280-600-450-80-cincluded a ‘Banana Room’ for ripening bananas, which we use for our North side barrel aging programs. When you’re at the North side KettleHouse, look around the taproom and you will see many of the old fixtures of the Lindsay warehouse incorporated into the modern taproom. Today when walking through the doors of this historic building you will be consumed by the glorious smell of beer brewing. Our North side brewhouse is capable of producing 30 barrels (930 gallons) of beer per batch and is currently brewing for the customers of the North side taproom. In the taproomon tap today you will find a variety of patrons enjoying one of our hand crafted beers. On Wednesday nights, folks come and ‘drink for a cause’ at our popular Community UNite program where a portion of pint proceeds go to a local organization of our choice doing good work around the community. Come check out the North side KettleHouse Taproom and Brewery, have a pint and grab a growler to go – straight from the source.
