At KettleHouse Brewing Co., our mission is to match the quality of our beers to the quality of the Montana outdoor experience. We are an award-winning brewery located in beautiful Western Montana with a vision to work toward carbon neutrality in our brewery. KettleHouse opened in 1995 and has become a Missoula icon with three locations: two taproom breweries in Missoula, MT, and our state-of-the-art production and packaging facility located on the banks of the Blackfoot River in Bonner, MT. This facility features a 60 barrel automated JVNW brewhouse as well as a Krones canning line to service our increasing distribution footprint.

We are a forward-thinking, progressive brewery looking for a Head Brewer that is a dynamic leader who is passionate about brewing and interested in having a positive impact on Montana’s craft beer culture.


About the Head Brewer Position:

The Head Brewer is responsible for the successful and efficient production and packaging of KettleHouse Brewing Co.’s world-class craft beer. The Head Brewer will lead and manage the entire production team in order to oversee all aspects of the production process. The Head Brewer models a passion for craft beer and innovation while also demonstrating the business and leadership skills required to drive progress and deliver the high-quality beers that Montanans have come to expect.

This is a full time, salaried position with a benefits package including health, vision, and dental insurance, 401(k), short and long-term disability, paid holidays and paid time off. Salary is commensurate with experience.



  • – Expert level experience in brewing and packaging in a craft beer brewery.
  • – Demonstrated ability to successfully lead and manage a team.
  • – Extensive knowledge of QC and QA practices in a commercial brewery.
  • – Exceptional communication skills.
  • – Experience with brewing ingredient selection.
  • – Proven track record of product and recipe
  • – Proficient in Microsoft Office and other business tools.

The above knowledge, skills, and abilities are typically acquired through a combination of education and experience equivalent to a Bachelor’s degree in biology, physics, or general science, or a related field and a minimum of five (5) years’ experience that includes brewing beer, cellaring, packaging, and managing employees.
