The National Smokejumper Association (NSA)  is a non-profit (501(c)(3)), American organization that preserves the history of Smokejumping through documented interviews, historical rosters, reunions, photographs, movies, letters, reports, personal memorabilia collections, and publications. It is an organization of former and present Smokejumpers involved with wildland firefighting and the preservation of National Forests and National Parks.  The NSA Trails Program was founded in 1999 to field volunteer crews to clear trails, restore historical structures, and build corrals and fences. Since 1999, the Trails Program has had over 250 weeklong projects averaging 8 to 10 volunteers per crew totaling nearly 2,500 weeks of volunteer time.  Funds raised tonight at KettleHouse Community UNite will help field projects that are increasingly underfunded due to budget cutbacks to the Federal Agencies.

Community Food & Agriculture Coalition (CFAC) sees a future where houses, farms, and ranches thrive together; people are well-fed and food secure; family farms are supported within a community food system; and beginning farmers and ranchers can access agricultural land to feed the rest of us.
CFAC members are deeply concerned about the rapid loss of agricultural land in Missoula County.  We do not believe that residential sprawl is the best use of the fertile lands that can support work farms, sustain rural communities, and feed people.  We do, however, see a way for Missoula County’s population to continue to grow without spreading houses across working farm and ranchlands.
We believe that if our food system is to be strong and resilient, we need to support beginning farmers and ranchers, to help them over the hump of the first few years to build sustainable, successful business models. CFAC helps beginning farmers by providing assistance accessing land, financing and markets; education on business and production; and networking opportunities.
CFAC’s Food Security, Access, and Consumption (FSAC) committee takes a comprehensive approach to developing new markets and assuring all Missoula’s citizens equal access to healthy, affordable, and culturally appropriate food.  Our programs have included Missoula Farm to School, Double SNAP Dollars, EBT at the Farmers’ Markets, and the Buy Fresh Buy Local Farm to Restaurant Collaborative.
Funds raised at the KettleHouse Community UNite will go towards helping CFAC continue to build a sustainable local food network for Missoula. Join members of CFAC’s staff and board at the Northside KettleHouse on April 26th to learn more about our programs.
