Narles Layne tragically died from suicide on October 4th 2004. The Narles Layne Foundation focuses on preserving his legacy and sharing his incredible life story with others. With the support of his family, friends and Montana communities – Narles will continue to make a positive impact in the lives of young people and their families for years to come.
Narles touched the hearts and souls of so many of us and together we can continue to celebrate his amazing life through fundraising events and charitable donations that will allow the foundation to award two educational scholarships each calendar year: one to each male and female student athlete who best exhibit the same excellence in school, athletics and the community that he did.
The Narles Layne Foundation will play an active role in Montana by teaming up with organizations and sponsoring events that inspire and offer hope to young people facing adversity.
We will serve as a beacon for mental health awareness and suicide prevention efforts. We will foster the development of upstanding moral character in our kids and the communities around them.
To honor and celebrate the storied life of Narles Layne through the acts of awarding scholarships, engaging in suicide prevention efforts and raising awareness about the impact mental health has on individuals, families and communities. In addition, we will support local youth sports and their important role in developing leadership, reaction to adversity, teamwork and sportsmanship.
